Magnacut Blade with black DLC coating Lightweight only 63 grams black G10 handle scales UKPK goes Salt It's no big secret that the laws regarding knives and carrying them in public are much stricter in Europe than in the USA. However, Spyderco was one of the first major manufacturers to take on this problem and create a kind of European classic in its own range with the UKPK (UK Penknife), which even meets the very strict laws in the UK. Here two important factors come together: although you can open the UKPK - thanks to the Spyderholes - one-handed, but the blade is not locked in the open state, but is held by a powerful back spring (similar to a Swiss Army knife). This allows you to carry the UKPK perfectly legally. Yet despite its small size, lack of a lock, and extremely lightweight construction, the UKPK is a highly functional pocket knife. The thin blade proves to be a real cutting devil in everyday EDC use thanks to the raised flat grind and shows that Spyderco really had a cutting tool in mind here and not a folding crowbar. The Magnacut used in this version is extremely corrosion resistant and can therefore be used even under the most unfavorable conditions. The black G10 handle scales, which you might no from other salt series knives, do not require steel plates underneath and ensure a construction that is as light as it is strong. At just 63 grams, the UKPK is hardly bulky in your pocket. The deep-carry pocket clip can be mounted on the left or right side, which makes the knife interesting for left-handers as well. All in all, you get with the UKPK a really highly suitable EDC pocket knife which not only complies with local legislation, but also proves to be a loyal companion.

Spyderco UKPK Slipjoint Drop Point It is no big secret that the laws regarding knives and carrying them in public are much stricter in Europe than in the USA.Spyderco, however, was one of the first major manufacturers to address this problem, and with the UKPK (UK Penknife) has created a kind of European classic in its own range, which even meets the very strict laws in Great Britain. Two important factors come together here: although the UKPK - thanks to the Spyderholes - can be opened with one hand, the blade does not lock when open, but is held by a strong back spring (similar to a Swiss Army knife, for example). This allows you to carry the UKPK perfectly legally. However, despite its small size, lack of locking mechanism and extremely lightweight construction, the UKPK is a highly functional pocket knife. The thin blade proves to be a real cutting devil in everyday EDC thanks to the raised flat grind and shows that Spyderco really had a cutting tool in mind here and not a folding crowbar. The built-in CTS BD1 steel is very corrosion resistant and also easy to bring back to razor sharpness after use. The FRN (Fiber Reinforced Nylon) handle scales do not require steel plates underneath and ensure a construction that is as light as it is sturdy. At a mere 48 grams, the UKPK hardly adds any weight in your pocket. The deep-carry pocket clip can be mounted on the left or right side, which makes the knife interesting for left-handers as well. All in all, with the UKPK you get a really highly suitable EDC pocket knife which not only complies with local legislation, but also proves to be a loyal companion.

only 105 grams heavy blade black oxidized Price-Performance-Cracker! The Spyderco Tenacious has been for many knife fans the entry drug at Spyderco. It is simply incredible what you get here for a comparatively small penny. Now the popular Tenacious is also available in LW (Lightweight) variant with coated blade in the All Black Everything version. The handle scales made of FRN (Fibre Reinforced Nylon) have the typical Spyderco pattern, which provides an enormously good grip. So you can work safely with the knife even with slippery or wet hands. The blade is locked securely via the liner lock which can be operated with one hand without any problems. The wire clip is convertible and lets the only 105gr. light knife discreetly disappear in the pocket. The 8Cr13MoV steel used for the blade is already quite rust resistant. Through the robust oxide coating, the material is even less susceptible and also looks extremely good. Just as with the original version, the ergonomics of the Tenacious is also the decisive point with the LW variant. The hand position is simply sensationally good and proves once again that Spyderco chief designer Sal Glesser simply has an incredibly good feel for handle shapes. Here you simply get a knife that is effortless to work with for a long time without being uncomfortable in the hand. So if you're looking for a knife that's great to work with or want to get closer to the Spyderco brand, the Spyderco Tenacious LW is a very clear recommendation.

Spyderco Para-Military 2 Black G10 complete black version blade steel: CPM-S-45VN Handle material: G10
Spyderco was founded in 1976 by Sal and Gail Glesser in Golden, Colorado. What started as a small booth at trade shows has grown into one of the most influential brands in the knife industry. Today the company is run by son Eric Glesser in its second generation, with the same attention to detail as on day one.
In 1981, Spyderco was the first manufacturer to add a pocket clip to a folding knife. It's standard today, but back then it was a small revolution. Just as well known: the Spyderhole, the round hole in the blade. It lets you open the knife with a single finger, no nail nick or flipper needed.
Many Spyderco models are one-hand-opening knives with a locking mechanism, such as a Compression Lock or Liner Lock. Carry laws for locking one-hand knives differ by country, so always check your local regulations before carrying one in public. For everyday carry without that restriction, Spyderco also builds slipjoint models like the UK Penknife: they open one-handed via the Spyderhole but don't lock, which makes them legal to carry in most of Europe, including Germany and the UK.
Are Spyderco knives legal to own?
Ownership is legal everywhere we ship. Carrying a knife in public depends on the model and your local laws: locking one-hand knives often face restrictions, while slipjoints like the UK Penknife are generally allowed.
Which Spyderco model can I carry without restrictions?
The UK Penknife is the best known choice. The Lil Native Slipjoint, the Metropolitan Lightweight, and the Urban Lightweight are also non-locking slipjoints.
What is the Spyderhole?
The round hole in the blade that lets you open the knife one-handed with your thumb. It's a Spyderco invention and the brand's best known feature.
What's the difference between the Paramilitary 2 and the Para 3?
Both share the same build and the Compression Lock. The Para 3 is the more compact version, with a shorter blade and smaller handle, but the same DNA.
Where are Spyderco knives made?
Mainly in Golden, Colorado, USA. Spyderco also manufactures in Japan, Italy, and Taiwan, depending on the model.
Do you offer custom scales for Spyderco knives?
Yes. For the UK Penknife, we carry exclusive titanium scales from Daily Customs Hamburg, available only at Knife Lounge.
