Sebenza 31 Available in Large or SmallReeve Integral Lock with ceramic ball on lockbarBlade Steel: Magnacut Clip Design: Off-set (on the 31, the clip now sits diagonally rather than straight) When in June 2019 the end of the Sebenza 21 was proclaimed and with the Sebenza 31 the successor was presented, this message went like a drumbeat through the knife scene. Finally, new introductions of the manufacturer from Idaho are already very rare. If it is then still about the heritage of one of the most famous and best pocket knives of all time, such a thing does not remain without appropriate reaction. Fortunately, Chris Reeve Knives have improved their recipe for success all in all only minimally but in crucial places, so that one can justifiably continue to speak of a Sebenza in the new 31 model.. First, it is noticeable that the hole on the presentation side of the knife is now omitted - something that many Reeve fans have long wished for. The slightly altered angle of the pocket clip, which now no longer presses on the lockbar, is also quickly noticeable to the trained eye. Less obvious, however, is the revised lock of the Sebenza 31. Just as with the Umnumzaan or the Inkosi, a ceramic ball embedded in the lockbar now presses against the blade root. The hardness of this ball is in a range that can hardly be measured, preventing long-term wear at the contact point of the lockbar.. To improve the hand position of the Sebenza once again a little, the recessed grip on the front was ground a little differently. All in all, we can say: yes, the new model rightly bears the venerable name Sebenza and can effortlessly tie in with the popular 21 series.. Small or Large? Just like its predecessor, both sizes are still available. While the large Sebenza 31 is a truly full-blown work knife, the Small Sebenza remains the king of EDC pocket knives - the hand placement continues to be great on the successor model. All of the features mentioned above can also be found in this smaller version of the Sebenza 31 - just in a slightly more compact and pocket-friendly form.  Please note:The photos are of the Large version in each case..

Chris Reeve Sebenza 31 – Glass Blasted / Silver Hardware The Sebenza 31 in this configuration might look almost understated at first glance — and that’s exactly the point. The glass blasted titanium handles offer a very distinct feel. Finely textured, slightly rough, almost “soft” to the touch — while still providing solid grip. In daily use, you’ll quickly notice how comfortable it is, especially over longer periods. Over time, the typical snail trails will appear. Not harsh scratches, but fine signs of use that blend naturally into the finish. One detail that often goes unnoticed: the silver hardware. Sebenzas usually come with blue accents. Here, everything is intentionally kept silver. Less contrast, a calmer and more technical look — perfectly matching the glass blasted finish. The Glass Blasted finish uses crushed glass, resulting in a finer, tighter texture that’s highly scratch-resistant and silky smooth — yet still offers plenty of grip. Sandblasted finishes, on the other hand, use sand to create a rougher, more tactile surface that develops character over time.

Chris Reeve Sebenza 31 Canvas Micarta black available in Large or Small Micarta inlay on the front and back Clip sits slightly diagonal on the 31 Ceramic Ball Detent Of course there is also a model with inlays for the Sebenza 31 besides the "Plane Jane". Two versions are currently available, one with Natural Canvas Micarta and the variant presented here in Black Micarta. While the rear Micarta inlay is more oriented to the inlays of the Inkosis in terms of shape, a new design was chosen for the show side. Instead of having two inlays as before, now one large one was used, which describes a wide arc over the handle of the knife. As is customary with CRK, the inlays on the Sebenza 31 are bonded in such a way that they last virtually forever. In addition to the visual difference, the Micarta inlays also provide a somewhat fuller and rounder hand position, which should be interesting especially for use with gloves. Böker Barlow BFF Lucas Burnley Design fixed EDC handle material: walnut with hollow rivets with leather sheath Best Friends Forever? No, of course the abbreviation BFF does not stand for this romantic idea of eternal friendship. Rather, "Barlow Frontpocket Fixed" should be meant here - at least this describes this compact fixed absolutely precisely. Here you get a pocket knife in the true sense of the word - just not for folding. The design of the BFF comes from none other than Lucas Burnley, who now has numerous designs of his knives produced by Böker. The handle of the BFF is so universally shaped that both small and somewhat larger hands can easily find room here. Only if you have exceptionally large paws, it could possibly be tight here. The walnut wood gives a great visual contrast to the brass pins. If you want to attach a bead, you can do so thanks to the large hollow rivet at the end of the handle. For the steel for the full-length blade, Böker have chosen AEB-L this time. This stainless alloy was originally used for the production of razor blades and takes on an incredible sharpness. The saber grind of the blade and the small swedge towards the tip, give the blade a look that is somewhat reminiscent of the knives from the colonial era of the USA - only in a handy pocket size. To make the BFF live up to its name, Böker have designed a leather sheath that you can "clip" to the hem of a jeans pocket thanks to a steel clip. So this little everyday companion is always within reach when you need it.

The tiny one made from solid titanium very compact Pilot G2 Mini refill While the Parker and normal G2 versions are full-blown EDC pens, the Pilot G2 Mini TIclicker is an amazingly compact pen that can be slipped into your pocket without adding any significant bulk due to its short length or low weight. The length of the pen is - in contrast to many other mini pens - chosen so that you still have an excellent hand position and even long texts go effortlessly from the hand. The refill used is the Pilot G2 Mini, which is essentially a compact version of the large G2 cartridge. Thanks to its diameter, this refill is still able to store a large amount of gel ink despite its short length. Here you get an ideal compromise between short length and high practicality.

But why Crowgear's Don't Worry Stone (DWS) is so much more than just a pocket weighted device is explained to you by designer Paul Berndt - the man behind Crowgear. "I've always been very impressed with all the great makers in the EDC scene who build cool stuff that people carry and use every day. I've always thought Worry Stones were nifty,but I'm also a sucker for things with added value. In and of themselves, these are just blocks that are only good as fidget toys or trouser weights. That's why I had the spontaneous idea to integrate a bottle opener. That it should be modular was my concept from the beginning, so that everyone can assemble it to fit his EDC. Of course, it's made of my favorite materials: titanium, micarta and brass." By the way, the DWS is manufactured by Daily Customs in Hamburg.
