Heads or tails? Sometimes that’s the most honest way to make a decision. Steven Kempa of Vulpex Knives built the VK-COIN for exactly those moments – a decision coin, made in his workshop near Potsdam. And because we don’t take ours out of our pockets anymore, there’s a version exclusive to us: with the Knife Lounge logo engraved straight into the material.
The coin measures 42 mm across at 4 mm thick – hefty enough to carry real weight in your hand on the flip, flat enough for the coin pocket in your jeans or the slot in your pouch. You’ve got two variants to choose from: titanium (Ti 6Al4V, available in two finish options) or solid copper. Both in a plain finish, no anodizing, no colour games.
The difference is literally in the hand. Titanium is light, near-indestructible and looks the same in five years as it did on day one (well, almost…) – the pick for anyone who wants their coin on them every day and won’t compromise on weight in their EDC setup. Copper brings noticeably more to the scale and feels correspondingly more substantial. Above all, it lives: skin contact and daily carry draw a patina across the material over time, from warm glow to deep brown. If you like it bright, give it an occasional polish. If you want to see the story in the metal, just let it run.
The Vulpex coins come in small, limited runs and are regularly gone faster than Steven can make them. The Knife Lounge Edition is available here only, and only while stocks last.
