A good collectible knife can accompany you for a lifetime. If you use it, regular care is important, such as oiling carbon-prone steels and wooden handles. One more tip: While you can clean fixed blades with water and a little dish soap without issue, you should be careful with folders. Cleaning with water can cause moisture to collect inside – which not only leads to rust but can also affect delicate mechanisms like ball bearings or washers.
