The Pocket Bowie is no ordinary fixed blade. Michael Jarvis of Auxiliary Manufacturing released a design in 2023 that immediately caught the attention of the EDC world – compact, distinctive, with the unmistakable character of a classic Bowie. For its two-year anniversary, Big Idea Design translated the original into their own language: heavily stonewashed titanium, M390 and their signature Kydex sheath.
The result is a fixed blade that actually belongs in your pocket.
Titanium Handle.
The handle is Grade 5 titanium – light, tough and built to last. Big Idea Design is known for their intense stonewash finish: the knife is tumbled for hours with ceramic stones or abrasive media until both handle and blade have a matte, lightly textured surface. Signs of use barely show – the knife keeps looking good.
M390 Blade.
M390 is one of the most popular steels in the premium segment. Exceptional edge retention, excellent corrosion resistance, 61 HRC hardness. The 2.8" Bowie blade with clip point is sharp enough for precise work and tough enough for everyday use. With a blade length of 2.8", the Pocket Bowie is fully legal to carry in Germany – no pocket knife, but just as practical.
Kydex Sheath with Deep Carry Clip.
Two Kydex sheaths are included – one for left, one for right carry. The deep carry titanium clip makes sure the knife disappears deep in the pocket and stays exactly where it belongs. A lanyard hole rounds out the setup.

Big Idea Design is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and has been making premium EDC gear from titanium since 2009.
