One Solid Piece.
If you’ve spent some time in the knife world, you’ll notice it quickly: the Isurus is not your average production knife. It doesn’t rely on visual tricks or gimmicks. This knife is defined by its construction. Reduced in design, uncompromising in structure, and clear in its purpose.
At the core of the Isurus is its integral titanium handle. And integral really means integral here: handle, frame, and backspacer are machined from a single piece of material. No screwed-together transitions, no gaps, no structural shortcuts. This type of construction is technically demanding and anything but common in series production.
The benefit is immediately noticeable in hand: maximum stability, exceptionally clean lines, and a handle that feels as if it were carved from a solid block of titanium. Because it is.
This complex construction is executed by Reate in China—a manufacturer known for consistently and precisely realizing technically demanding designs. Here, an ambitious concept meets a production partner capable of delivering it in reliable, repeatable quality.
The Magnacut blade steel fits this philosophy perfectly. It combines excellent edge retention with high toughness and outstanding corrosion resistance—ideal for a knife that’s meant to be used, not just admired. The dark blackwashed finish further reduces sensitivity to wear. Scratches aren’t flaws here; they’re part of the story.
In everyday carry, the Isurus quickly reveals what it’s really about. No show design, no unnecessary extras, no attention-seeking details. Instead, you get balanced ergonomics, a solid and reassuring feel in hand, and a construction built for long-term use.
The long, flowing swedge along the spine of the blade particularly emphasizes the knife’s character. It doesn’t feel decorative—it feels natural, technically sound, and visually spot-on.
The Isurus doesn’t feel like a collector’s piece. It feels like a tool that just happens to look exceptionally good.
About NIM Knives
NIM Knives represents the beginning of a journey. Behind the name is Nick, a German knifemaker who realized his first production design with the Isurus.
His vision is deeply rooted in craftsmanship: If you can imagine it, you can build it. Nick approaches knife design through construction—thinking in geometries, materials, and structures that would normally be associated with CNC-heavy or highly automated processes. This mindset comes directly from his hands-on, craft-driven background.
NIM Knives is not a finished chapter—it’s a starting point. The Isurus marks the first step, defined by a clear idea, high technical ambition, and the courage to think things through in complexity before simplifying them.
