Kraken Scales – Blast DLC

At first glance, the Blast DLC Scales look just like the classic bead-blasted titanium scales. But look a little closer, and you'll notice the finer blasting grit—and most importantly, the Stubborn DLC coating developed by Piratech.

What makes them special?
You get that familiar, understated look, now with upgraded performance: exceptional scratch resistance, excellent corrosion protection, and a refined, semi-transparent black finish.

What is "Stubborn DLC"?

This custom DLC coating by Piratech is ultra-thin (around 2 μm) but incredibly tough. In testing, TC4 titanium at 32–36 HRC easily withstood repeated contact with S90V cutting edges at 61–62 HRC.
Thanks to its thinness, the coating preserves the texture and detail of the blasted titanium beneath—just with a sleek light black tint that shifts subtly between dark gray and black, giving it a clean yet premium look.

Neodymium magnets are extremely strong – please handle them responsibly. Below is an overview of the most important safety warnings:

Crushing hazard

These magnets attract each other at high speed and can pinch skin or fingers. Injuries such as bruises or fractures are possible. Handle with care.

Strong magnetic force

Uncontrolled collisions between magnets or with metal objects can cause damage or splintering. Broken magnets may have sharp edges. Wearing protective gloves is recommended.

Not a toy

Neodymium magnets are not toys. Swallowed magnets can be life-threatening, as they may attract each other inside the body and cause serious internal injuries. Keep out of reach of children at all times.

Electronic devices

Strong magnetic fields can interfere with or damage electronic devices such as smartphones, credit cards, hard drives, or pacemakers. Maintain a safe distance of at least 20 cm from such devices.

Fire and explosion hazard

Magnets must not be machined, drilled, or cut, as they may splinter or ignite. High temperatures (above 80 °C) can permanently reduce their magnetic strength.

Temperature resistance

Standard neodymium magnets are not resistant to high temperatures. Do not store them near ovens, heaters, or in direct sunlight.
