Sean Lum started Null Knives in New York in 2020 — not as a trained knifemaker, but as a designer and long-time enthusiast who knew exactly what was missing from the knives already out there. The Voodoo caught the community off guard: organic lines, ergonomics that disappear in the hand, and blade geometry that cuts sharper than it looks. Within a few years, Null Knives had become one of the most talked-about small brands in the production knife segment.
The Voodoo Doll is the next question Sean asked himself: what happens when you think the same concept smaller? He didn't just scale it down. The blade went from 91 mm to 81 mm, stock thinned from 3.7 to 3.4 mm, and at the same time he reworked the grind — shifted the plunge grind closer to the handle, raised the grind line. The result cuts sharper than the original, in a knife that fits better in your pocket.
Vanax SuperClean handles the blade steel. For a knife that goes through rain, sweat, and kitchen use every day, it's an honest choice: excellent corrosion resistance, long edge retention, no babying required.
