MK Knives & Tools Humbler

Handmade Knife from Poland

Marcin is a trained architect, but he deliberately chose knifemaking because he sees more freedom in it. For him, knives are tools that tell stories – and that is exactly what you feel with the Humbler. Only a few pieces are made each year, each showing visible traces of handcraft and individuality.

Right from the first opening, you notice that nothing is left to chance: the blade made from Elmax steel runs smoothly on washers through two half-stops before locking in place with a satisfying “clack.” The strong spring tension provides not only safety but also this conscious, almost ritualized opening and closing – a moment that Marcin himself particularly values.

His preference for clean lines becomes clear in the drop-point blade with fine glassblast finish. Instead of traditional grinding, he mills the blade – an unusual but very consistent decision that gives the knife its unique character.

The handle also carries Marcin’s signature: beneath the Micarta or Richlite scales are titanium liners – and the backspacer, which also forms the backspring, is made of Elmax steel just like the blade. Micarta develops patina over time, while Richlite is extremely durable and has already been used in aerospace since the 1960s – both materials make the knife your very personal companion.

What matters most to Marcin is the connection between maker and user. In an interview, he explained that he loves when his knives are not locked away in a display case but used outdoors. The Humbler is built for that: 42a-compliant, honest, handmade – a knife that accompanies you without pushing itself into the spotlight.
