Oh NO - I am not in stock right now! 😞
With the MSI (Microtech Standard Issue), Microtech has deliberately chosen to forgo flashy design – and in doing so, may have created one of the most functional knives in their entire lineup.
Instead of futuristic lines, you get a no-nonsense hard-use EDC that focuses on what truly matters: performance, reliability, and handling.
At the heart of it lies the new RAM-LOK™ – Microtech’s own take on the plunge lock, inspired by Spyderco’s Ball Bearing Lock and Benchmade’s Axis Lock, but with beefier hardware and a much more rugged build. The ambidextrous locking mechanism is not only incredibly solid but also buttery smooth to operate.
The blade is made from Microtech’s exclusive M390MK – a custom alloyed version of Böhler’s M390, formulated specifically for Microtech. The goal? Maintain the excellent edge retention of the original while dialing up toughness and durability – and that’s exactly what M390MK delivers.
The high flat grind gives you excellent cutting performance, even in daily use. The blade is ground surprisingly thin by industrial standards, so despite the robust blade stock, you still get impressive slicing power.
The textured polymer handle scales are lightweight, grippy, and ergonomically shaped. A deep-carry stainless steel clip keeps the knife secure in your pocket, while the oversized lanyard hole has room for even the bulkiest of beads and fobs.
