Spyderco McBee
Spyderco McBee Jonathan McNees Design CTS-XHP steel Titanium Framelock Bee buzzing around The Spyderco McBee (designed by Jonathan McNee) polarizes without a doubt. Even we in the team don't agree whether this little stinger is one of the most ingenious EDC knives ever or whether we are dealing with the "Fiat Multipla" of the knife scene. Whether you like this little stinger or not, it remains to be said that the McBee is incredibly well made and designed. The short blade, somewhat reminiscent of a Wharncliff shape, is made of the extremely cut-resistant CTS-XHP steel. This is not completely stainless; the blade should therefore be cleaned with a little oil every now and then. Good ergonomics are ensured by the generous recess on the back of the blade, which offers sufficient space for placing the index finger. This allows extremely precise cuts to be made with complete ease. The handle of the McBee is completely milled from titanium and designed as a framelock. A real eye-catcher is the hammer finish on the lockbar cutout and on the axle screw. Here you can see that Spyderco still go to the last detail even on such a small knife. At only 48gr, the McBee is absolutely predestined to travel with you as a faithful companion in the fifth pocket of your jeans. Thanks to the clip, the knife sits securely and tightly on the hem of the pants. Sure - a log batonieren or a piece of game supply one would not expect such a small knife. But if you're looking for a small box cutter, a sturdy backup knife or simply a cool EDC item, the McBee is right up front.
