The GMF1 for the cutting board
Cooking on the road rarely fails because of the recipe. It fails because of the blunt thing sitting in the holiday flat’s drawer or in the camper – or because you’re trying to get onions into even rings with your EDC folder.
The GMF1-Chef takes the familiar GMF1 platform and points it at food prep. The blade is noticeably taller, so your fingers stay off the board when you rock through a cut, and it’s made from Nitro-B, a nitrogen-alloyed stainless steel from GiantMouse’s kitchen knife line. In practice that means lemon juice, tomato work and half an hour lying unwashed on the board are no problem. The stonewash finish covers the rest.
The black G10 scales don’t take on water and stay grippy when your fingers are greasy. They’re screwed on, so you can take them off for a proper clean – after two weeks of camping, that’s a real argument.
It comes with a Kydex sheath instead of the usual Italian leather. Leather and damp blades don’t stay friends for long. Kydex goes under the tap, gets a shake, done.
For the camping table, the van and every kitchen where you’re only a guest.

Warning / Safety Notice:
Risk of cuts: The most common hazard when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can easily penetrate skin and tissue.
Blade slippage: Improper handling or applying excessive force may cause the knife to slip, leading to uncontrolled movements and potential injury.
Injuries from falling knives: Knives should never be left unsecured or placed near the edge of tables or work surfaces, as they may fall and cause injury.
Dull blades: Dull knives pose a higher risk of injury, as they require more force and are more likely to slip. Knives should therefore be sharpened regularly and properly.
Improper use: Using a knife for purposes other than its intended use (e.g. as a prying tool) can damage the blade and may result in accidents.
