Living legend
If you are looking for a knife that has not only written history, but also makes it tangible in your hand, then the Fox ATCF Original Gangster is exactly what you are looking for. Bob Terzuola, considered the “Godfather of the Tactical Folding Knife”, developed the ATCF (Advanced Technology Combat Folder) in 1986-87. His experience with military and security personnel in Central America and the USA flowed directly into the design. The aim was to create a knife that was light, robust, corrosion-resistant and easy to use with one hand - all in a compact format. The combination of titanium handle scales, the linerlock developed by Michael Walker and the sleek look was absolutely groundbreaking at the time.
Groundbreaking design
The list of innovations that Bob Terzuola has packed into this one design is truly long.
Here are just a few examples:
- First tactical folding knife assembled entirely with screws instead of rivets.
- Introduction of the thumb disk for ambidextrous opening - an innovation that was imitated worldwide (best wishes to Ernest Emerson)
- First pocket knife with pocket clip that was convertible.
- Checkered ramp on the top of the blade for improved grip and safety.
As you can see, this design has had an incredible influence on the way modern pocket knives have developed over the last 40 years. One example of this is Terzuola's legendary book The Tactical Folding Knife, on the cover of which the ATCF can be seen.
Fox Knives is bringing this icon back - with modern materials and at a price that doesn't require you to sell at least one vital organ under dubious circumstances. The Fox ATCF OG is Bob Terzuola in its purest form. By the way, the OG stands for “Original Gangster” here - a little nod to the long history and influence this knife has had on modern folders.
Here are a few hard facts:
- MagnaCut blade with stonewashed finish
- Stonewashed titanium handle/ linerlock
- Original Terzuola logo
- Titanium pocket clip
- Overall length: 22 cm | Blade length: 9 cm
Let's be honest: how much closer do you want to get to a custom Terzuola without selling your house and yard? Whether you're a collector or looking for a reliable EDC, the ATCF Original Gangster is a knife that carries more knife history than you can list in a newsletter.
