Divo Knives Smallboy – Bild 1
Divo Knives Smallboy
Version: Purple Nurple
Just past midnight, the heat still hanging over the asphalt, a synth beat dripping out of an open window. Something purple flashes in the neon light. Not a drink with a little umbrella – the Divo Smallboy in Purple Nurple. Divo Knives is based in Atlanta. The Tallboy is their flagship, and the Smallboy is its little brother. Little brother doesn’t mean harmless here. The blade is CPM S90V, hollow ground, 7,6 cm long and running on ceramic bearings, so it just drops open and shut. S90V is the steel for people who want their edge to stay sharp for a long time and can’t be bothered with constant touch-ups. Kubey Knife builds the whole thing as OEM partner, and you can feel it in the tolerances. The colour runs the whole show here. The dyed CamoCarbon scales catch the light like a sunset over Ocean Drive, with collars, backspacer and clip in purple titanium – Sonny Crockett, the pastel-blazer cop from „Miami Vice“, would have carried this thing to the Ferrari without a word. The 3D-milled titanium clip rides deep, can be repositioned and fully removed if you want to rework your setup. It locks up with a nested liner lock that Divo runs as a tab lock: a small lever you work comfortably with your thumb. It opens either through the thumb hole or the thumb stud. At 17,5 cm overall and 79 g, the Smallboy sits in your pocket as a compact EDC folder without bulking up. „3 inch, very average“, as Divo describes it themselves – still enough for everything that comes up day to day, somewhere between a parcel and an apple.
