Coin Slip

Product information "Coin Slip"

Coin Slip

  • fits all coins from Carpe Diem EDC and the GiantMouse SSU Coin (diameter 39 mm)
  • Black leather = Buttero Nero
  • Brown leather = Pull Up

Coins are undoubtedly becoming more and more popular in the EDC scene. But maybe you've also wondered how to transport your talisman without scratching the coin in your pocket. Especially for coins with a nice, detailed surface, that's a shame. Daniel from dp_steelandleather has come up with something again and developed a CoinSlip. So you have a small pouch in which you can carry your favorite coin without scratching it. Especially the brown pullup harness leather benefits immensely from being carried in your pocket. Thanks to the heavily greased surface, it accepts scratches and creases, giving it a wonderfully individual patina.

As with all dp_steelandleather products, the CoinSlip is also handmade by Daniel in his small manufactory workshop.

Please note that the tannic acid of the leather can accelerate the "aging" of your coin. Especially silver coins tarnish quickly.

Clip the Slip

Often the best ideas come out of everyday life. Anyone who has ever used a Buck 110 for a long time knows that this great classic is a very capable but also heavy tool. It can be carried well on the belt thanks to the corresponding holster - but you don't necessarily want that all the time. In any case, knives of this size are clearly too heavy for a pocket.

Daniel Pokladek, the man behind DP steelandleather, thought so too. He was simply tired of having to carry his heavy buck on his belt all the time and so the idea of a small leather sheath with a riveted pocket clip was born. Daniel had already had the experience of sewing leather before: a knife he had made himself needed a sheath. Not finding anyone willing to make one for him, he tried his hand at the sewing machine himself - with a convincing result. The foundation was laid and the ideas began to bubble up; the way to ClipSlip was paved.

Daniel Pokladek, born in 1976, comes from a family with clear roots in traditional crafts. As the son of a master watchmaker and a lathe operator, working with his hands was present virtually from childhood. Years of making music followed, from punk to alternative rock and a job in radio.

Today, Daniel's ClipSlip in particular is enormously popular in the knife scene. Thanks to the very high quality stainless steel clip and the great stitching, they get a slip sheath like you can hardly find a second time. So even classic pocket knives that do not have a pocket clip can be carried without you being heavy and crosswise in your pocket.

Carpe Diem Coin
Carpe Diem EDC "Carpe Diem" Coin  "When I designed my Original Carpe Diem Coin, I wanted a challenge coin that could be carried and given away to friends and family, that would remind the holder that time is fleeting, that death waits at the end for all of us, and that it is important to make the most of every day."   Jim Wirth, founder of Carpe Diem EDC The skull on the face of the coin symobolizes death. The gear wheel on the stin of the skull is found in all mechanical watches and is a symbol of the passing of time. "Time passes" or "time flies" became more of a reality each day as Jim himself approached the age of 50."Death Waits" was his very real, if somber, reminder that at the end of all our days of life, there is only the certainty of death. On the back side of his original Carpe Diem coin was a simple message, "Carpe Diem," meaning "Seize the day" and "Make your life extraordinary." Make the most of every day you have! Work hard but also celebrate well. Do good for others who are not as fortunate as you. Be present in the lives of friends and family. For the text on the coins, Jim chose Latin: "TEMPUS FUGIT" for "Time Passes" and "MEMENTO MORI" for "Remember Death." The reverse shows a "Tree of Life" with the words "CARPE DIEM" for "Seize the Day." Surrounding the tree of life are the words "FAC VITAM INCREDIBILEM" for "Make an incredible life for yourself" and "MEMENTO VIVERE" for "Remember to live". These two sayings are separated by roses, a subtle suggestion to take time, pause and smell the roses   Technical Specifications: Diameter:  39 mm Thickness:  2,7 mm Material Antique bronze finish (brass alloy - chemically aged).Antique silver (German silver - chemically aged)Solid copper with antique finishCopper ( raw and shiny) Brass (shiny).999 Silver (approx. 1 ounce) Made in USA:   Made in America's oldest mint (founded in 1835)

Or we let a coin pass back and forth between our fingers while our thoughts flow. Sometimes such a coin is also a decision maker: we toss it in the air and let fate decide. Depending on which side it lands on, it determines the path we take. Carpe Diem EDC are launching these great Viking Traveler Coins. Few peoples in Europe have taken on such incredibly ambitious journeys over the centuries as the Vikings. To commemorate these efforts, the Viking Traveler Coin features a Viking embossed design showing Odin on his eight-legged horse Sleipnir, accompanied by his spear Gungnir and the two ravens Huginn and Muninn.       On the other side is the Nordic Vegvisir, which shows you the way through the worst weather and the harshest conditions. Carpe Noctem Coin
Carpe Diem EDC - Carpe Noctem Coin Given the overwhelming success of the Carpe Diem (Seize the Day!) coins, a companion coin that follows the same theme for the night cannot be missing.Carpe Diem means: make the most of today, because time is fleeting and tomorrow is uncertain. GiantMouse Shank Sharpeners Union 2021 Coin
GiantMouse Shank Sharpeners Union 2021 Coin - Europe Chapter classy EDC coin for the Shank Sharpeners Union a design of the Altonaer Silber Werkstatt and Paul Berndt 39 mm in diameter  This Europe Chapter Coin from GiantMouse is available in Europe exclusively from us. What we love most about this coin is the symbolic meaning. GiantMouse use it to remind us of their roots, which, like part of the inhabitants of the USA, historically lie in Europe. But the coin also represents the worldwide cohesion of the large community that is quite closely associated with the brand. The Shank Sharpeners Union (SSU) is not just a loose bunch of knife fans. There is a great sense of solidarity within the union and if one of the members has a question or even a problem, others are immediately on hand to help. It is a great honor that we were the first to design a coin in the spirit of this community. To do justice to the name of the Europe Chapter Coin, the coin was therefore not designed in the USA, but in the middle of Europe, more precisely in Kiel. Paul Berndt is now a well-known face in the SSU and has earned a first-class reputation in the EDC scene for his great designs. You may already know a few of his designs through his patch designs, which you can find in our store. The coin is made of embossed nickel-silver and has a diameter of 39mm.  Where can I find the SSU? The Shank Sharpeners Union (SSU) is the fan community around Giantmouse.
