Arcane Design The Automaton

Like something straight out of a sci-fi film – angular, elegant, and full of character.

The Automaton is the result of a collaboration between Arcane Design and the highly regarded manufacturer Reate – and it shows in every detail. Technically refined and precisely executed, this knife feels like a seamless piece of engineering. The titanium handle scales are internally milled – because on a spaceship, every gram counts.

The CPM-S90V blade runs on caged bearings and opens smoothly via a dual thumb stud – with clean, direct action and just the right amount of resistance. The liner lock isn’t just functional – it’s stylistically integrated into the handle design, maintaining the knife’s clean, futuristic silhouette.

The overall geometry of the handle is technical and restrained – with no unnecessary embellishments. The deep-carry clip, which can be mounted for left- or right-handed carry, ensures the Automaton stays discreet and secure in your pocket.

This is a knife for those who appreciate the unity of material, form, and function – with a quietly futuristic aesthetic.

Warning / Safety Notice:

Risk of cuts: The most common hazard when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can easily penetrate skin and tissue.

Blade slippage: Improper handling or applying excessive force may cause the knife to slip, leading to uncontrolled movements and potential injury.

Injuries from falling knives: Knives should never be left unsecured or placed near the edge of tables or work surfaces, as they may fall and cause injury.

Dull blades: Dull knives pose a higher risk of injury, as they require more force and are more likely to slip. Knives should therefore be sharpened regularly and properly.

Improper use: Using a knife for purposes other than its intended use (e.g. as a prying tool) can damage the blade and may result in accidents.
