XM-18 3.5" The original without flipper
The XM-18 is basically one of THE tactical pocket knives ever.
This variant is the rarer "non-flipper version". The ergonomically shaped handle sits comfortably in the hand and allows the knife to be used safely in both fencing and forward positions.
The titanium liners and the handle scales made of milled G10 make the XM-18 incredibly robust and can therefore also be used for somewhat tougher tasks. The opening via the two thumbstuds is absolutely effortless and the frame lock locks the knife bombproof.
The steel insert in the lockbar interface means that the knife can continue to be locked securely even after years of use without the lock wearing out.
The Lockbar Stabilizer invented by Rick Hinderer ensures that the locking spring cannot be overstretched and thus damaged when opening;
Tri-Way pivot system
Do you prefer to use your knife with ball bearings? Or would you prefer the more traditional way with nylon washers? No problem. In the sixth generation of the XM-18, Rick Hinderer has introduced the "Tri Way Pivot System". Here you have the option of equipping your knife with the nylon or bronze washers supplied or with small ball bearings.
Blade
The blade is the so-called slicer grind.
This is the most cutting-friendly grind that Hinderer currently offers. Don't worry: this blade is of course still extremely robust and can also be used for rougher slicing tasks. For optimum performance, the S45VN steel from Crucible is used for this run.

There's no question about it - Rick Hinderer is one of the greats of the US knifemaking scene.
With his decades of experience and his countless innovations (just think of the overtravel stop for Framelock folders), he has been able to make a name for himself just as much as with his collaboration with brands such as Gerber, Viper, Zero Tolerance or Kershaw.
A trained firefighter and horse trainer, Hinderer lives with his wife Lori on a farm in Ohio and still manufactures all of his knives in the USA with his crew. Hinderer's knife designs are always influenced by his experience as a firefighter and rescue diver and the demands on a blade in a "hard use situation". His knives are first and foremost tools that should enable effortless work and withstand even the highest loads.
In addition to models such as the Fulltrack, the MP-1 or the smaller Halftrack, it is primarily the XM-18 that forms the basis for Hinderer's designs. But also the tactical pens like the Extreme Duty or the Investigator Pen convince with their very high quality workmanship, the well thought-out conception and the massive use of material.
We are therefore pleased to be able to offer you a selection of Hinderer products here.
