The James Webb Space Telescope is a joint project of NASA (USA), ESA (Europe) and CSA (Canada) and is the newest and most powerful telescope in the world.
It launched into orbit in December 2021. The first images were presented to the public in July 2022.

It is one of the most advanced images in the world. But strictly speaking is a look into the past. What looks at first glance like a landscape of mountains and valleys is actually the edge of the Carina Nebula NGC 3324, 7,6000 light years away.
